for listeners
you have a handle! you like sound! let’s go!
on plyr.fm, you’ll find music, spoken word, ringtones, ASMR, and other assorted sounds from people all over the internet.
when you find something you like:
- add it to your “liked” collection
- add it to a playlist of yours
- leave a comment at a certain moment in a track
- support the creator (via atprotofans, ko-fi, or a custom link)
everything you do — likes, playlists, comments, support — is stored in a place you control so that if sometime later you don’t like this audio streaming app anymore, you can take your audio-related history with you to an app that you prefer (without an annoying migration process!).
even today, other apps (like aetheros.computer) already use plyr.fm records to provide an alternate user interface to audio stored on plyr.fm.
